Has anyone read "The Jakarta Pandemic" yet? It sounds good but I cannot find it around here or online in EPub format.

I bought it for my Kindle, but I haven't read it yet. If you have a Kindle I could loan it to you.

Thanks Megaton but I will wait it out I guess. Sooner or later it will be mine! Let me know how you liked it when you finish reading it though.

King, you got a Kindle right? I can loan it to you if you want. Think I just need the email address on the Kindle account.

I enjoyed the novel. It kept my interest to the end of the book.
It starts out slow. It mainly chronicles life of one family in suburbia. The father is a drug rep for a corporation that sells one of the only drugs effective against the Jakarta flu. When ordered by surrender his samples to the government he decides to give them instead to a doctor treating patients at one of the local hospitals and reserves a few doses for his family and friends. He and his family are somewhat prepared to be shut in. They have emergency supplies.
When supplies run short in the grocery stores and the risk of catching the virus is imminent the family take refuge in their suburban neighborhood and watch as society breaks down around them.

I finally read it! It's ok at best. To me it left the pandemics terror in the middle of the novel and turned into a rather ordinary suspense plotted theme. As far as Apocalyptic..... not really.
