Can't neglect the S&W Model 28 Highway Patrolman
« Thread Started on Dec 4, 2011, 4:40pm »

Ahh the Model 28. S&W introduced the 28 as the duty version of the more luxurious Model 27 in 1954. Despite the cosmetic differences internally they were the same accurate and strong N framed .357 magnum revolvers. The 28 was made until 1986. Unlike the Model 27 the 28 was only available with the 4" and 6" barrel.

Both revolvers were refinished. I had a Parkarized (phosphate) finish applied and then a teflon coating. A very utilitarian finish for a utilitarian revolver. The 6" model is now gone, but the 4" is still in my safe. It's not going anywhere. An excellent field revolver. Not a CCW piece.
