I checked and didn't see a thread started for this show so I'm adding one because I'm finally watching it.
It's not earth shaking but it's watchable. The quippy one liners get annoying very quickly as do Jessica Alba's acting mannerisms but I'm interested enough to keep watching.
I remember hearing at the time that the second season deteriorated. Is that true?

I loved Dark Angel when it was on. I seem to remember that season two got more into the backstory of Max and the others like her. I can't recall if there was a satisfying conclusion to the story when it was cancelled though.

Well, I watched about five episodes today. It was like popcorn. I couldn't stop. And I'll admit it. I'm girlie so I was caught up in the romantic aspect as much or maybe more than the story of the Manticore tribe.

Hey, I'm a boy, so I was mostly caught up in the fact that Jessica Alba is a goddess...
Nothing else mattered much in that show.

I watched the show when it was on TV here in Australia and I too enjoyed watching because of Jessica Alba but also for the actress who played Asha (Ashley Scott) Parts of the show I really liked, Max and her friend living in an apartment in an abandoned apartment block, the cops coming by for bribe money so they wouldn't throw the squatters out of the abandoned apartment block, the markets, the police hover drones, the militarization of the police - all good dystopian, cyberpunk stuff.
Which is also where I have a problem with the show, I always felt that the concept was pretty much lifted straight from the Cyberpunk 2020 RPG with liberal doses of William Gibson thrown in for good measure. It didn't exhibit as much original thought that I was expecting from someone like James Cameron. It felt something of a cash in, granted not as bad as William Shatner's Tek War series (which had stories that were almost identical to novels I'd read for the ShadowRun RPG), but still bad.
