What book are you reading right now? I just finished "The Infection" and haven't quite decided on my next book yet. I have so many great books queued up at the moment.
I am considering.....
1. The Sheep Look Up 2. Level 7 3. 33 AD 4. The Last Ship 5. The Strain
Any good non-zombie suggestions (my last 4 were all zombie books)?

I've not read any of those but I'd probably pick the Last Ship out of them.
Alternatively, you could start at the beginning and read After London by Richard Jefferies, written in the 18th or 19th century. It's one of my favourites and you can read it free on Guttenberg.

right now i am reading Soft Apocalypse by Will McIntosh. I am really enjoying it (enough that i actually sent him an email to tell him how much i like it and he thanked me for the kind words). It is a very cool, well written, realistic look at what could possibly be our future. I would suggest this book.
next up i have One Second After by Willliam Forstchen, which i have heard a lot of good things about as well.
as far as zombie stories go, have you read any eric s. brown? he is the master of the short story.

I really liked One Second After. It felt fairly realistic to me in the way the apocalypse affects the town.
I'm actually in between books myself. I picked up The Boy at the End of the World recently, and I'm in the mood for a young adult read, so might give it a go next.

I actually started reading "One" by Conrad Williams. The apocalypse starts for the main character while he is in a diving bell hundreds of feet under water repairing the leg of an oil rig. Off to a great start...

I am currently reading Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin. I know it's not PA, but damn this is a good book! After that I'll probably dig into one of my million or so PA novels to read
As for PA reads. Level 7 by Mordecai Roschwald is quite a good choice. The Sheep Look Up I have not read, though do own, and The Last Ship I have heard is quite dull.

I feel like I need to read Game of Thrones some day. There's a new book coming out this summer right? Does that end the series or will there be more?
Think I'll wait until it's done before I dive in.

i used to run a robot uprising survivalist forum on a body modification website. as much of a zombie apocalypse guy as i am, a robot uprising is more than likely in my opinion. i definitely have to check this book out... you know before nanobots learn to self replicate and self replicate themselves until there is no more room for matter or something (the grey goo theory). or killbots come kill old people for their prescriptions (like that saturday night live skit taught us! lol)
thanks for the heads up on a book i definitely want to read.

just finished the 3rd Zombie fallout book and waiting for Gauntlgrym by RA Salvatore to be delivered.
I read too much.

I've pretty much given up on trying to read PA books at the moment - not because I dislike them or they're bad or anything like that but simply because I've got hooked on Bernard Cornwell's historical fiction series of Sharpe's novels. Set in the period of the very late 1700s to the early 1800s, they detail the career of Richard Sharpe from a private to a lieutenant colonel in the British Army. Wiki link The wiki page has some serious spoilers however.
I bought the first one about a month ago and liked it so much I immediately bought the second in the series before finishing the first. By the time I was halfway through the second book, I'd bought books 3 through to 11 by mail order and I'm just about to start book 6 tonight.

Found a hard copy of "The Postman" at goodwill and started that and have really enjoyed it. The only negative is I keep picturing Kevin Costner as the lead. Not sure if I want to see the movie after how good the book is.

Have read the Sharpe books, the series is quite good as well, Know a few members of the south Essex regiment (napoleonic re-enactment group) and the costumier who made Sean Beans uniform for the series, he got to do some extra work in the background when Liz Hurleys Bodice was ripped off as she didnt want the ukrainian extras there when it was filmed.
thought it was funny that the Penninsular war was filmed in Crimea while the charge of the light brigade was filmed in Spain.

I'm a couple of chapters into Quarantined by Joe McKinney. So far it's feeling a lot like Ashes of the Earth, more of a mystery that takes place in a PA scenario than a book about the PA part. I'm really liking it.
