Hi everyone.
I´m trying to find some post-apocalyptic music. I am interessted in all sorts of genres and it doesn't matter if it's hardcore techno or blues.

I am mostly intrested in bands and songs that have a lyrical theme that relates to post-apocalyptic stuff but everything with a filthy dystopian doomsday feeling and wibe is also very much interesting.

Here is a couple of bands and stuff that I already have come up with.

Ministry (Do I have to say more?)
Revolting Cocks
Skinny Puppy (mostly for the atmosphere)
frontline assembly (cyberpunkish and great)
Peace love & Pitbulls
Non Phixion (hiphop with a futuristic dystopianfeeling)
Fallout (3) soundtrack
Bioshock (2?) soundtrack

Any more suggestions?

Lots of soundtracks that are good for that special P-A feeling:

- 28 Weeks Later
- Escape from New York
- Ghost in the Shell
- Sunshine
- Lost Highway
- Half-Life 2
- Full Throttle (the Lucasarts adventure)
- Quake 3 (by Sonic Mayhem)
- Silent Hill 2

Other favorites:
- Boards of Canada
- Lux Vivens (Jocelyne Montgomery with David Lynch)
- Deftones
- Deine Lakaien
- A Perfect Circle

I don't know if anyone else here uses Spotify but I made a playlist of songs related to nuclear war, which was a lot of fun to put together:
http://open.spotify.com/user/pupnik/playlist/33S3zyCg1ZjZMNLtwDn8jQ

When I first started I thought it would be quite hard to do but it turns out there are tons of really great songs and I could have gone way above the 15 tracks that I put in. Most of them aren't really post-apocalyptic so much as about the threat of nuclear war, though. I agree with lordyo that it's the soundtracks which are better at getting that PA kind of feeling.

I'd really love to get this boxset but it is really expensive!

Fallout 3 look for "The Ink spots", or the OST, or Galaxy News Radio or GNR ost in um, places.

I like the common more chill out music, that is set to battle scenes. Think fallout 3 don't wanna set the world on fire. Also mad world with gears of war. Along those lines.

Another resource that I have found:
http://ocremix.org/
it takes all your fav video games and remixes or just creates new music for it. The music has a very ambient feel and I do have a lot of it.

This is another PostApocalyptic.info stream find:

"POST-APOCALYPTIC" is the debut release by experimental/industrial outfit PURE SPIRIT & SALIVA. It's a haunting and disturbing work. The title is very appropriate as the e.p. sounds like a soundtrack for a Post-Apocalypse world.

Speaking of post-apocalyptic music, I just came across this. Kinda techno'ish track made up of nothing but sounds from Terminator 2: Judgement Day.

I'd have to say the most socially and toxicallilly-ly apocalyptic form of music in terms of themes is definately Thrash Metal. Look into things like MEGADETH and Slayer as they are both (especially megadeth) highly politically driven. We are also coming into a new age of Apocalyptic music with the New Age of Thrash Metal: Bands such as Municipal Waste and Toxic Holocauste have paved the way for a new influx of younger, harder bands such as Gama Bomb and Mutant, all of which focussing their attention on environmental awarness and cool stuff (ninja turtles ect.).

Of course, there's always Rob Zombie.

Soundtracks from old vietnam/war movies usually have great epic PA music that accompany it.

Metallica and SOAD seem like bands that would be liked in the apocalypse, I can see raider's driving around to these tune's.

You should try the dark ambient project "New Risen Throne". http://www.lastfm.de/music/New+Risen+Throne
Probably the best dark and apocalyptic soundscapes i can think of.

There's loads of torrents for the Fallout 3 GNR soundtrack, and it's got some really really good songs on there. The music was one thing Bethesda truly excelled themselves on.

Bioshock soundtracks are also easy to find, but i got the collector's edition of Bio 2 so i got the CD.
